SO.....it seems as if everything I touch lately just either breaks, gets ruined or just doesn't work all together OR one of my kids is ruining something around the house. I'm finding that it is almost impossible to keep anything nice around here and it's quite frustrating. So this morning I decide to go outside on my back porch and spray paint some flower pots for a project....I had already had my cup of coffee and was feeling quite perky! Well, between the wind and the faulty spray paint that decided to just keep spray AFTER I took my finger off the nozzle....spray paint got everywhere!!! It got on my nice slate table, my metal chairs and especially devastating, on the very newly painted porch. So upsetting!! We just had our whole exterior painted, including our back porch and now I have little dots of beige spray paint all over it!! All I can think is, "my husband is NOT going to be happy about this!". So as I'm panicking and frantically trying to wipe it up while it's still semi-wet, I'm trying to figure out how the heck I'm going to get this up. Note: Spray paint dries rather quickly! Most of it came off of the slate table because it was wet from the morning dew. But after wiping with a wet rag and scraping with my finger nails, I knew I had to resort to something else. Voila!....fingernail polish remover! I put some on a cottonball and tried it out and it worked! Very relieved that I will be able to get the spray paint off....not so happy that it will probably take the entire time the kids are napping to get it all off....not what I was wanting to do today. However, not surprising because lately things just don't go as planned. I'm starting to learn (after a husband and four kids) that it's pretty darn difficult to plan anything around here!
Moral of this story: Plan ahead when using spray paint and properly prepare your work area!! And if you're hasty like me, then get out that trusty fingernail polish and elbow grease!
